Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register to bid?

On the top right-hand corner of our website, navigate to the option that says "Login/Register."
Once you have clicked that button there will be an option to login-for previous registered bidders-or an option to "Register."
Click the button that says "Register" and fill in the required fields.
Once you have finished entering your information, the last step is to verify your email address.
We will send an email to your account asking for verification; there is a “Verify Email” button in the email, click there to confirm.
Before you are able to bid on items, our system requires a valid credit card on file before any bidding takes place. Be sure and get that entered and then you should be good to go!
Please Note: Logins and Passwords are Case Sensitive, be sure to keep that in mind!
Happy Bidding!

What is a max bid and how do I place one?

A max bid, is a bid that represents the highest amount you are willing to spend on a lot.  For added convenience, our system allows you to enter that bid at any point and time.
To place a bid, go to the lot you are wanting to bid on, click the bid button to bid the next increment or you can type your own amount within the stated increments.
When you type your own amount and hit enter, you will place your max bid.
Our system will bid incrementally on your behalf up to your max amount entered!

What is a Buyer's Premium?

This is a percentage of the bid placed that will be added onto the final amount owed. Sales tax if applicable to the auction will also be accounted for on top of the Buyer's Premium.
Example:
Bid Placed - $10.00
Additional 15% Buyer's Premium - $1.50
Total Amount Owed - $11.50

How do I sign up for a pick-up time?

After the auction closes, we will send out emails to winning bidders of their invoice from the auction.
On that invoice there will be a link to SignUp Genius.
Click the link to access the website and choose a time slot for pick-up.
Using this scheduling tool helps us organize our load-out crew and prepare your items in advance & it allows us to prioritize based on scheduled arrival times, making the process faster and more efficient for everyone.

How do I pay for my purchased items?

If you want to pay by check or cash, you must attend the loadout at the scheduled time in order to do so.
You can also use your card on file if wanted either at the loadout or prior. There is a 4% fee added for card transactions.
We also have the option of a wire transfer. If needed, please contact our office to obtain the necessary instructions.
It is a good practice to read the full auction terms for the specific auction you are bidding in regarding payment types & policies as some events require different circumstances.

Do you List and Sell Property Traditionally or just via Auction?

We are both Realtors & Auctioneers giving you the most options available to fit your needs!
If you are interested in selling, set up a free consultation where we can view the property and tailor a strategy that best suits you.

How can I sell my items?

Start by contacting our office to either schedule an appointment for our staff to come take a look or to arrange another method such as email or text to view items.  Please note, we do not quote over the phone.
If we come meet with you, the agent will give you their recommendation on the best way to go about selling your items and what costs/fees will be incurred.
From that point, we will coordinate the necessary paperwork and steps needed to get your items up and live for bidding.  Once the auction has ended, you will receive an itemized settlement statement showing each lot that sold and how much it sold for along with your proceeds check.

Why Buy at Auction?

Transparency: When bidding at auction you know exactly what the other buyers are bidding.
Equal Opportunity: All bidders have the same, fair opportunity to win items.
Guarantee: Item satisfaction is guaranteed on all purchases with us.
Deals: Auction items often sell near wholesale cost -- a fraction of typical retail values.

How does the Watchlist work?

The watchlist is NOT real time data. It is used to keep track of what you are bidding on and what items you might want to bid on at a later time. We recommend that you do not use the Watchlist for bidding while the auction is closing.
To add items to your watchlist, press on the button beside the bidding option that has an eye on it. That will automatically add it to your Watchlist.
To find your watchlist, look at the top right hand of the BidMetzger website screen. There should be an option to click on "Watchlist"
